Veterans who participated in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. last week were greeted Saturday night by a large crowd at Austin’s Bergstrom International Airport upon their arrival back from the nation’s capital. Korean War veteran from Lampasas received special recognition over the weekend when he joined an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. A
James Welch, 88, joined the U.S. Marine Corps in July 1951 and spent most of his three years of service in Korea during the Korean War. Through Honor Flight, he was able to visit the Korean War Veterans Memorial on Saturday.
