The Lampasas Independent School District is seeking alternative ways to hire more teachers.
During a called meeting Wednesday, trustees approved a plan for Superintendent Dr. Chane Rascoe to hire contractual personnel through the end of August.
Currently, the district has 29 open teaching positions, 17 for elementary campus openings.
