A Copperas Cove animal control officer was dispatched to Taylor Creek Elementary School on Thursday after a dead bat was discovered on the campus.
The school is located in Lampasas County.
The bat was sent for rabies testing at the Texas Department of Health Laboratory in Austin, according to a news release from the Copperas Cove Police Department.
