Heriberto “Eddie” Rodriguez, who has served as interim Kempner police chief since June, has been selected to fill the position permanently.
The Kempner City Council voted unanimously on the promotion during its meeting Tuesday evening.
According to City Manager David Williams, Rodriguez has been a peace officer since 2008.
