A group of young friends working together on short films decided to pursue production of “Big Iron,” based on a Marty Robbins country & western single released in 1960.
The song tells of an Arizona Ranger who rides into Agua Fria to shoot it out with an outlaw named Texas Red. He uses his “big iron” – a .45 caliber copy of the Colt single-action Army revolver.
