Kempner City Council to implement new rules for meetings

    The Kempner City Council is moving forward with new members and a new mayor — along with a new set of rules to govern meetings.

    During last week’s workshop session, Mayor John Wilkerson spoke of a “cumbersome” set of meeting rules and procedures the council adopted in 2019 under former mayor Keith Harvey.

    Wilkerson made a presentation outlining reasons why the council should repeal the rules.
