The defending state co-champion Slidell Greyhounds eliminated the Lometa Hornets, 70-32, in the boys' basketball regional semifinals on Tuesday.
Lometa trailed 28-16 at halftime. The Hornets finished 13-8. This trip to the fourth round of the playoffs is the farthest in coach Frank Reyes II's 40-year career.
