    Although this winter generally has met the expectations for dry, mild weather, Lampasas County was mostly drought-free in the weekly U.S. Drought Monitor released on Thursday. January temperatures ranged 1.5 degrees above the long-term historical average but, as usual, came with a few strong cold fronts.
