Matthew Isaiah Lawson, 19, pleaded guilty Jan. 8 to deadly conduct for his involvement in the September 2019 fatal shooting of Kempner resident Vance Henry Helzer. 27th District Judge John Gauntt sentenced Lawson to six years’ probation.
