Leonard Everett Spivey, 84, of Lampasas, died on July 28, 2026. A memorial visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Aug. 1 from 5-7 p.m.
Leonard was born in Lampasas on May 28, 1942, to Leonard William Spivey and Annette (Roberts) Spivey.
He spent most of his career working for TxDOT and retired after 25-plus years of service.
Leonard was heavily involved in the Lampasas County Livestock Association. He raised show sheep and helped many youth in the community to show.
Leonard knew everyone and always had a good story to tell. He loved to barbecue and pitch washers. He cooked sheep so well that most people had no clue what they were actually eating.
Family was everything to Leonard. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Jo, and said many times he wouldn’t be the man he was without her. He was devoted to his children and grandchildren and rarely missed any of their events or activities.
One of Leonard’s proudest moments was when he was baptized in October 2025, something he voluntarily decided he wanted to do.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo; his sisters Lynette and Karen; and his son-in-law, Alberto “Bert” Lopez.
Survivors include his daughters Lisa Hall and husband Paul, Serina Parker, and Amanda Lopez; grandchildren Reece, Kenzlee, Lindzy, Ramsie, Brynlee, Blakelyn, Shyan and Shawn; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Donations may be made to the Lampasas County Livestock Association or the Ladies Auxiliary in Leonard’s name.
