Mrs. Mixon

Patsy Jean Brewer Mixon died on May 4, 2026.

A longtime resident of Lampasas County, Patsy was born on Sept. 9, 1947 in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Jesse Lee and Hattie Irma (Clarke) Brewer.

On Sept. 1, 1967, she married the love of her life, Marion Lee Mixon, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Together they shared 53 years of marriage.

As a proud military wife, Patsy supported her husband through assignments across the United States while she served as a devoted mother and homemaker, also building and maintaining a successful career of her own. She balanced the demands of professional life with the responsibilities of a military spouse with grace, strength and determination.

Patsy was never a stranger to anyone. She had a gift for seeing the good in every person she met and a desire to help others. Her kindness, warmth and genuine spirit touched countless lives.

Having lost both of her parents when she was 23, Patsy poured her heart into her own family.

She is survived by her daughters Melody Rowe and Marian “Mary” Johnson; her son, Jesse Mixon; grandchildren Genevieve “Genny” De Dios, Antonio “Tony” Lugo, Morgan Mixon, Mandolynne “Mandy” Mixon and Brady Rowe; and greatgrandchildren Eric Surratt and Alexxander Lugo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Virgil Brewer and Jesse Brewer; sisters Irlyma Brewer, Mary Brewer and Keran Brewer; and a granddaughter, Amy Johnson.

Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on May 9 at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Kempner. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Copperas Cove has charge of arrangements.

Patsy will join her late husband at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen in a private family ceremony at a later date.
