Mr. Davis

Wayne Lynn Davis, 75, died on March 22, 2026, at his home in Briggs.

Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on April 3 from 6-8 p.m.

Services will be held on April 4 at 11 a.m., also at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery in Briggs.

Wayne was born on Sept. 27, 1950, in Lampasas to Lawrence and Juanita Abbott Davis. He grew up in Briggs.

He graduated from Lampasas High School in 1969.

After high school, Wayne attended Navarro College in Corsicana and then attended Texas A&M University in College Station, where he played football and studied science.

Wayne owned Temple Chemical Co. Inc., where he worked for over 30 years.

He served in the Elks Lodge as a member and Exalted Ruler, and the ZS Teague Masonic Lodge #568 as a member and a past Worshipful Master.

Wayne married his soulmate, Judy, in 1974, in Little River Academy. They were married for 51 years, had two children and lived in Moody.

He was an avid supporter of his children’s educational and athletic activities. His friendships were meaningful, and many were lifelong.

Wayne was a member of Lampasas Community Church. He enjoyed his large family, hunting, fishing, golfing, football, basketball and horses.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by his son, Jeffrey Davis.

Survivors include his spouse Judy of Briggs; his daughter, Cari Davis and her partner Tricia of Dallas; his sister Vicki and Vaughn Smith of Dripping Springs, and sister Roberta and Gary Eacott of Briggs; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and dogs Gracie, and Moses and Hailey.
