Mr. Johnson

Donald Glenn Johnson of Lampasas died on March 10, 2026.

Glenn was a proud Vietnam veteran who served his country with courage, grit and a strong sense of duty. During his service, he earned numerous honors, including the Air Medal with 16 Oak Leaf Clusters and the “V” Device for Valor, awarded for acts of heroism in combat. It stands as a testament to the bravery and determination he demonstrated while serving his fellow soldiers under dangerous conditions. Glenn rarely spoke about the details of his service, but those honors spoke clearly about the kind of man he was.

He carried that same sense of duty into everyday life. If something was broken, he would fix it. If someone needed help, he would show up.

Beneath the rough edges was a man who believed in service, loyalty and taking care of the people around him. And if you had a few minutes to spare, he had stories and opinions to share.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Bonnie, and by two children, Donnie and Amy.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter Genny; brothers Gary, Ken and Carl; sisters Mae, Karen, Shirley and Carrie; nieces and nephews, along with many others.

A celebration of his life will be held at the VFW Post in Lampasas at 3 p.m. on March 21. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
