Mrs. Adams

Edith Gail (Carpenter) Adams, 78, of Oakalla, died on Jan. 24, 2026.

Gail was born June 24, 1947 in Lampasas, the daughter of Nolan Elsworth Carpenter and Ruby Janice Wells.

Gail graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1965, then attended Durham’s Business College.

She worked as a contract specialist for the U.S. Army’s Procurement Division at Fort Hood; in Berlin, West Germany; in Seoul, South Korea; and at Fort Irwin, California. After retiring from civil service, she was a member of the Oakalla Volunteer Fire Department.

Remaining to cherish Gail’s memory are husband Bill; sons Brian, Toby and Todd; grandchildren Alex, Nicholas, Allie, Travis and Marci; brother Nolan Jr. and sister Deborah; along with numerous others.

Preceding Gail in death were her first husband, Ronda; and sisters Kay and Pamela.

A graveside service was set to be held Feb. 2 at 2 p.m. at Tobey Cemetery. Crawford Bowers Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
