Mrs. Smothers

Ramona Fay Smothers, 65, died on Jan. 22, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She was born on Sept. 15, 1960 in Neubrucke, Germany to Paul and Mina “Fay” Supon. Mona grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and graduated from Widefield High School.

In high school she met Henry Marshall Smothers Jr., and they were married on Sept. 30, 1976. They were married for 49 years. She was a steadfast military wife, and a “second mom” to many of her children’s friends.

Mona was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Marshall Smothers Jr.; sons Henry Smothers III (Amanda) of Kempner, and John Smothers (Stephanie) of League City; daughters Cynthia Carter (Jason) of Lampasas, and Elizabeth Glowinski (Justin), also of Lampasas; grandchildren Jacqueline (Justin), Henry IV (Denisse), Chloe, Waylon (Mackenzie), Jaden, Jake, Isabella, Jaxson and David; great-grandchildren Seth, Ezra, Quentin, Henry V, Oaklynd and Ryder; siblings Edward, Leslie, William, Julia and Monica; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Jan. 28 at 1 p.m. Funeral services take place immediately afterward at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
