Mrs. Welch

Ruth Anne Key Welch, 86, of Lampasas, died peacefully on Dec. 31, 2025.

She was born on March 24, 1939, in Austin to James Richard Key II and Geraldine (Dumas) Key.

Anne married James Everett Welch in El Paso on Aug. 31, 1957.

She worked as an administrative secretary for the El Paso ISD, Menaul Independent School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and moved to Lampasas in 1986, and she retired from the Lampasas ISD.

Anne took great joy in serving the Lord Jesus Christ and spending time with her family.

Her favorite pastime was designing and constructing clothing, which was her vocation for many years. She also enjoyed creative writing, traveling, reading and gardening.

Anne is survived by her husband of 68 years, James E. Welch of Lampasas; children Kristy Welch of Liberty Hill, Zachary Welch and wife Laura of Georgetown, and Denise Momberg of Lampasas; grandchildren Carolyn Wildermuth and husband Aaron of Weatherford, Bethanne Lee and husband Christopher of Killeen, William Welch and wife Rachel of Columbus, Ohio, Esther Momberg of Temple, Elizabeth Momberg and partner Jonah Klepinger-Thurston of Austin, and Emily Momberg of Lampasas; and great-grandchildren Kaisen, Beckett and Carolina Wildermuth of Weatherford, Emily Caputo and husband Eli of Temple, Landon and Kailyn Lee of Killeen, and Charlotte and Sophia Welch of Columbus, Ohio.

Visitation will be held at Sneed Carnley Funeral Chapel on Jan. 8, 2026, from 6-8 p.m.

Services will be held at New Covenant Church on Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
