Laura Lou Carroll, 78 of Burnet, died on Dec. 30, 2025.
Laura was born on May 12, 1947, in Comanche to parents Lloyd and Mary Thorp. Growing up, she lived and went to school in Lampasas.
Laura was a wonderful housewife and had many different jobs along the way. One of her passions was cleaning houses. She was very particular and enjoyed visiting with the families.
In 1996, Laura became a “Granny” to her grandson, Dakota Blake Smith. There was nothing she would not do with or for him.
Laura loved fishing, working outside and taking care of her husband, L.W. Carroll, the love of her life for 56 years.
Laura is survived by her husband, L.W. Carroll; daughter, Lisa Reyes (Ted); grandson, Dakota Smith (Hope); step-granddaughters Samantha and Sidney Reyes; her sisters Jan Nickson (Mike) and Clara Lundy; her brother, Jay Thorp (Glinda); along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home on Jan. 9, 2026, from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral service will be held on Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Lakeland Hills Cemetery.
