Mr. Garner

James Marshall Garner Sr., 78, died of natural causes on Nov. 13, 2025, in Lampasas.

A memorial service will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.

Jimmy was born on July 4, 1947, to Leonard Marshall Garner and Emily Norine Anderson. His parents instilled in him and his siblings the values of hard work, dedication and perseverance.

After graduating from Lampasas High School in 1969, Jimmy pursued a career in construction and carpentry, running crews for several largescale companies. Later in life, he used his extensive tooling knowledge at Lowe’s, where he was the go-to guy for questions and recommendations. Jimmy retired in 2023.

Jimmy’s passion for life and dedication to his family and friends touched everyone. With a quick wit and contagious grin, Jimmy led a full life of love and laughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Don Carl Garner; his granddaughter, Lindsey Wholaver; and his daughter, Michelle Wholaver.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Weatherford; sisters Susie Wakeland and Dicie Merideth; his brother, Eddie Garner; sons, John-Edward Garner and Marshall Garner Jr.; his daughter, Roseanna Hollifield; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
