Parishioners of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church gathered at Oak Hill Cemetery recently to honor Dr. Thomas S. Denny, the founding lay reader of the church. In the mid-1870s, Denny was appointed by the first bishop of Texas to establish an Episcopal mission in Lampasas.
