David Lee Welch, 43, of Lampasas, died on Aug. 31, 2025, in Buchanan Dam.
Memorial services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Sept. 5 at noon, with visitation two hours prior.
David was born on May 27, 1982, in Lampasas to Larry Stratton and Bonnie Harrell. He grew up in Lampasas.
During his life, David was an avid carpenter with many skills. He always took pride in working hard. If he wasn’t rearranging the house, he was adding on something.
He loved to fish and spend time with his family. Family was his drive – not just his wife and kids, but his nieces and nephews as well. David was the type to be the first to lend a hand when anyone was in need.
He married Jessica Dalton on Jan. 25, 2015, and they were married for 10 years and shared four children.
David is survived by his spouse, Jessica Dalton of Lampasas; his daughter, Kelsey (Trey) Johnson; his sons Levi Welch, Trevor Welch and Waylon Welch, all of Lampasas; his father, Larry Stratton of Blanco; his mother, Bonnie Harrell and Conrad Magana of Lampasas; brothers Jesse Welch and Bobby Stratton; and sister, Natasha Stratton of Blanco.
The family requested memorial donations to Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas to help with the expenses.
