Decil Ray Reavis, 89, died Aug. 22, 2025, in Lampasas.
Services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on Aug. 26 at 11 a.m., with visitation an hour prior. Interment will follow at Pidcoke Cemetery.
Mr. Reavis was born on Nov. 2, 1935, to Cecil and Anna Nadyne Toliver Reavis in the Okay, Texas community that became the Camp Hood reservation in 1941.
Decil attended grade school in Oakalla and graduated from Briggs High School in 1953.
He met the love of his life, Billie Dean Smith, and they were married at Pidcoke Baptist Church on Dec. 16, 1961. They were married for almost 63 years when Billie passed away.
Decil and Billie made their home in Izoro and after retirement from the United States Postal Service, they spent many years traveling all over the United States, where they visited 49 states, and Canada.
Decil was a rancher, a gunsmith by hobby and an avid hunter. He went hunting in Colorado for 55 years.
He was a member of Pearl Baptist Church for 51 years and a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge #137 in Mahomet.
Decil was preceded in death by his wife, Billie; his parents; sister-inlaw, Bobbie Jean Smith Langford; and inlaws William H. Smith and Winnie Strickland Smith.
Survivors include his daughters Angela Rainwater and husband Jeff of Kempner, and Kathy Selph and husband Danny of Izoro; grandchildren Tamara Kruppa and husband Michael of Lampasas, Justin Rainwater of Lampasas, Brittany Dame and husband Chaysen of Kentucky, and Garrett Selph and wife Autumn of Izoro; great-grandchildren Kylee and Kade Kruppa, and Poppy Joy Dame.
