Marsha Kay Norris, 71, died in her sleep on March 11, 2025.
Memorial services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on March 21 at 2 p.m.
Born in Mishawaka, Indiana, on April 18, 1953, Marsha was known for her practicality and sense of humor, which she maintained throughout her battle with cancer.
Marsha’s childhood was spent on a small farm outside of South Bend, Indiana.
Her adventures in life began with a semester abroad with the University of Evansville at Harlaxton Manor in Grantham, England, where she met Frank, who became her husband. Her quiet faith guided her as they built a family around his 18-year Army career.
She passed the love of art, music and culture to her children, making the most of any military assignment. Her warm authenticity made everyone feel seen and welcome.
For the last 30 years, Marsha called Lampasas home. In that time, she worked as a carhop at Storm’s Drive-In, where she brought smiles as well as fries.
Though in later years she continued to travel to Scotland to visit family, her heart remained in Central Texas. Her farming roots were evident in her love for animals -- from affectionate grumbling at the resident armadillo to her fondness for birds. She was never without a canine companion.
She is survived by her husband, Frank; children Matthew (Jamie) and Kirsti (Michael); brothers Bill, Jerry (Marilee) and Brian (Jane); and five grandchildren, Andrew (Makenzee), AJ, Arthur, David and Abigail.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim, and her parents, Arthur and Kathryn.
Memorial donations may be made to the cancer research or animal welfare charity of one’s choice.
