Alas, poor Europe, I knew it well. A continent of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy. Where be your gibes now? Your gambols? Your songs? Your flashes of merriment? With apologies to William Shakespeare, Europe is faring only a little better than the dead court jester, Yorick, whose skull Prince Hamlet holds when he recites the correct version of the above lines in the Bard’s famous play....
