Mary Sue Ramirez, 89, died on March 1, 2025, at AdventHealth Rollins Brook hospital in Lampasas.
Rosary services will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas on March 6 at 6 p.m., with visitation to follow until 8 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lampasas on March 7 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mary Sue was born on Feb. 14, 1936, in Lampasas to Jesus and Corina Rendon Rodriguez. She grew up in Lampasas and attended Lampasas schools.
She was deeply involved with St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she dedicated much of her time as a volunteer.
In 1953, Mary Sue married Felipe G. Ramirez in Lampasas, and they shared 33 years together.
She was a devoted member of the Guadalupana Society and the Altar Society, and was a founding member of “The Catholic Church Tacos” kitchen. She also had a passion for Texas Rangers baseball and was honored with the Luminous Award by Bishop John McCarthy of Austin.
Mary Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Felipe Ramirez, and her daughter, Corina Menendez.
She is survived by her children Lisa Ramirez of Lampasas, Philip J. Ramirez of Lampasas, Bernadette Ramirez of Leander, Yvette Ramirez Durante of Lampasas and Michael J. Ramirez of Del Valle; her sister, Frances Cuellar of Roanoke, Texas; grandchildren Jason Moreno, Philip Ramirez, Aliana Menendez, Felisa Menendez, Myranda Carlson, Abra Ariail, Briana Marez, Sara Morales, Sheri Bergman, Elizabeth Foster, Nicole Shepherd, Francesca Ramirez Ford and Alejandra Ramirez; 25 great-grandchildren and four great-greatgrandchildren; her niece, Jessica Cuellar Carmona; nephews Eric Cuellar and Matthew Cuellar; as well as many other relatives.
Memorial donations may be made to the Guadalupana Society in her name.
