Alex Washington Wesley, 69, of Lampasas died on Dec. 10, 2024, in Killeen after battling a long illness and a lengthy hospital stay.
He was born in Lampasas to Alex Washington Wesley Sr. and Linda Faye Smith.
He worshiped at Hicks Chapel Church of God in Christ.
Alex earned his A.A.S. in computer maintenance electronics from Central Texas College in 1977. He then attended Tarleton State University, where he played basketball and graduated in 1980 with an industrial education degree.
Alex worked for “DEC” -- Digital Electronic Corporation -- as a field service technician with Blockbuster Corp. and finally moved on to work with several government contracts.
During his free time, Alex enjoyed working on gadgets and electronics, and dancing, hence his nickname “Rerun.” Alex was a talented dancer and performed at multiple festivals and events. He was in the spotlight as a guest star on Drive Time Dance Club 21 and was even selected to advance through “America’s Got Talent.”
Alex was considered a private, humble man with a never-ending smile. He could light up a room and draw a crowd with his contagious laughter and smile.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
He is survived by one son, Alexander Washington Wesley, as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held Jan. 16 from 4-7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home of Lampasas.
