The Lometa High School Speech and Debate Team competed at the Region XII UIL Congressional Debate Tournament at Salado High School on Nov. 11. Lometa swept the podium, taking all three state-qualifying spots. Jewel Groves placed first, Wyatt Potts took second, Liberty Potts finished third, and John Lawson placed sixth. The team will compete at the UIL State Congressional Debate Tournament at The University of Texas Jan. 7-8.
