Funeral services for business owner Marquette Meyer will take place Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. at Lampasas Community Church, with visitation to begin at 10 a.m. A private family graveside service will be held at a later time. Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Meyer died Nov. 13, 2024. She was 63.
She and her husband, Stephen, are owners of M&M Deer Processing, which they opened in September 2009. The business later grew to encompass M&M Butcher Block, Custom Slaughter and Taxidermy. Mrs. Meyer enjoyed working with the customers who came into the shop, and she prided herself on the level of customer service she could provide.
Mrs. Meyer was born in Lubbock on Nov. 8, 1961 and was raised by her grandparents, Mohalia and Robert Glen Brewster, in Mercers Gap.
She married Stephen Meyer on Sept. 1, 1991 in Houston.
Before opening their butcher shop and deer processing business, Mrs. Meyer worked for the Lampasas Independent School District for 10 years.
She was an accomplished seamstress and often sewed patches on letterman jackets for students in the area schools. She also spent time as a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed traveling with her family.
Mrs. Meyer was preceded in death by the grandparents who raised her and daughter Mohalia Brewster.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Meyer; a brother, Robert Brewster; son, Glen Meyer; two daughters, Amber Schneider and husband Jermery, and Victoria Meyer; four grandchildren, Lynn and Glen Meyer Jr., and Aubrey and Rachael Schneider; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
