Janice Lee Vance Brown, 86, of Lampasas, died on Oct. 7, 2024.
Visitation was held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel on Oct. 10, from 5:307 p.m.
Services will be Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. at First Street Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Janice was born to Basil and Rozella Vance in Logan, West Virginia on Aug. 12, 1938. She was the oldest of nine children. Janice moved to Lampasas in 1957.
She married the love of her life, Burke Brown, on Aug. 26, 1961. They were married for 63 years.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing a spirited game of 42 or 84, and helping Burke at the feedstore. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, attending church and time with her family.
Janice is survived by her husband, Burke Brown; sisters Chris Neace and husband Joe, Gloria Welman, Debbie Adkins and husband David, and Shawn Green; brothers Tom Vance and Jim Vance; sisters-in-law Hannah Kendrick, Peggy Stokes and Marilyn Brown; her children, Rickey Brown and wife Carol, Mark Brown and wife Erica, and Kim Brown Fisher and husband David; grandchildren Jeremy Brown and wife Haley, Paul Ritter and wife Donna, Stephanie Rutland and husband Jeff, Tuesday Brown Dulkoski and husband Dylan, Tate Brown, Maegan Fisher Barnett and husband Oren, Wesley Fisher and wife Whitney, and Michael Fisher and wife Laura; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister Linda Starkey; her brother Bobby Vance; sister-in-law Rachel Powers; brothers-in-law Mike Brown, Ben Wellman, Ronald Green and Tommy Kendrick; and her motherin- law and father-in-law, Fulton and Ima Brown.
Donations in her name may be given to either the Lampasas County Livestock Association or First Street Church of Christ.
