Mr. Feild

Wendell Scott Feild, 73, died on Sept. 4, 2024, at his home, in Kempner.

Visitation will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas from 3-5 p.m. Sept. 14.

Scott was born on Sept. 5, 1950, in Lampasas to Wendell McGuire and Dorcilla Francile Feild.

He grew up in Lampasas and graduated from Lampasas High School in 1969.

After high school, he studied at Central Texas College and dedicated the next 32 years to the Fort Hood Fire Department, serving as station captain for many years.

Scott married Mary Catherine in 1982, and they were married for 41 years.

Scott was an avid outdoorsman. Some of his best memories included hunting with his son, Justin, on the King Ranch and sharing a love of the outdoors with his grandchildren. He won numerous awards for the deer he harvested and was a published author in the Texas Trophy Hunter magazine.

He leaves behind his beloved red heeler, Cooper.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Cathy Feild.

He is survived by his son, Justin (Alexandra) Feild; grandchildren Paige, Brooke and Logan Feild; siblings Craig (Nadine) Field and Connie Loveall; his stepdaughter, Catherine (Keith) Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews.
