Mr. Shelton

Hubert “Arlis” Shelton, 65, died on Aug. 1, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.

He was born Sept. 22, 1958, in San Antonio to Charles N. and Dorothy Sauls Shelton.

Arlis grew up in Nixon, Texas.

In 1978, he graduated from East Central High School in San Antonio. Shortly after graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, serving eight years. He then began working at Tem-Tex Solvents in Temple, where he was employed for more than 38 years. He retired in February 2024.

Arlis married Aloma Braswell in December 2017 in Lampasas. They were married for over six years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his siblings Vivian Kalak, Linda Howland, David Shelton and Sherman Shelton.

Arlis is survived by his wife, Aloma of Lampasas; his children Brad Shelton and wife Kari, Amanda Lively and husband Andrew, and Sarah Shelton; stepchildren Britney Ullevig and husband Michael, Kyle Click and wife Amanda, and Camey Gonzalez and husband Luis; his brother, Paul and wife Brenda; six grandchildren, Taylyn, Tasen, Ashton, Camryn, Zackary and Stella; and eight step-grandchildren, Dylan, Hunter, Gracey, Atyana, Abigail, Maddox, Navy and Olivia.
