A toad, looking for dry ground, climbs onto a charred piece of wood after more than 2 inches of rain fell near Kempner Saturday afternoon. The precipitation was lighter in Lampasas, but the rain was enough to force cancellation of some planned festivities for the Independence Day Bash at the Lometa Regional Park....
