Artie Mae (Chamberlain) Moore was born to William Homer Chamberlain and Norine Gertrude (Stewart) Chamberlain on July 29, 1926, in Lohn, McCulloch County, Texas. She died on June 21, 2024, in Lampasas at the age of 97 years and 10 months.
Artie Mae is survived by her sister, Bessie Evelyn Blanton of Burnet; her brother, Richard Gene Chamberlain of Boerne; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Artie Mae was preceded in death by her brothers William Norine, Woodrow Wilson, Edgar Guin, Marrion Homer, Clovis Jack, David Lue, Herbert Joseph and Doll Lofton; as well as her nieces, Yvonne Adams, Loverta Cole, Marilyn Nelson and Tiffany Nelson.
Artie Mae was married and preceded in death by Dewey Thompson, Ira Tucker, Alvin Baden, Dale Gibbs and Alton Moore, with no children born to her.
Niece Connie Valdez, grand-niece Bridgett Michelle Hayes and greatgrand-niece Tallie Shay Cavazos cared for Artie Mae when she could no longer live alone and needed help.
Artie Me was outgoing, lively and loved to dance, which more than likely contributed to her longevity.
Graveside services will be held at Richland Springs Cemetery in Richland Springs on July 20 at 10 a.m. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel in Lampasas has charge of arrangements.
