Mr. Faw

Danny J. Faw, 78, died on May 12, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple. Services with military honors will be scheduled at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.

Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.

Danny was born Jan. 17, 1946, in Bluefield, West Virginia to Henry and Lillian. He was in a military family and grew up moving from place to place.

He joined the Army in 1963 and served his country for 20 years. Danny served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded the Vietnam Service ribbon with one silver and one bronze service star, the Good Conduct Medal bronze with five loops, the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Korea. He also served two tours of duty in Korea for more than five years with extended periods on the DMZ.

He retired from the military in July 1983 at Fort Hood.

After retirement, Danny worked at the Killeen Daily Herald as a maintenance tech for 10 years and then worked for the Walmart distribution center in Temple, maintaining and repairing equipment for 18 years.

He retired permanently in 2011.

Danny married Pak, Chun Cha in 1973 in Seoul, South Korea. They were married for over 50 years.

Danny was preceded in death by a sister, Mary.

He is survived by his wife, Chun of Killeen; a brother, Richard (Catherine) Faw of Lampasas; and his nephew, Kodie Greenburg of Lampasas.
