Martha Marie Crownover, 89, of Lewisville died on Sept. 30, 2023 in Lewisville.
Martha was born July 28, 1934 in Lampasas to Elton Wright Machen Sr. and Lottie Wheelus Machen.
She was a graduate of Lampasas High School.
She was known as “Mother,” “Nana” or “Aunt Martha” to those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Riley Crownover; daughter, Lynda Ann McCain; brother, Elton Machen Jr.; and sisters Margaret Machen and Velma Edwards.
Martha enjoyed playing all types of games with her family and friends, whether it was 42 dominoes or Back Up 3. The games were fun, but it was more about the closeness of family and friends around her. Martha was the recordkeeper of the family’s births, anniversaries and deaths. She loved her family.
Survivors include daughters Teresa Marie Crownover of Lewisville, and Dana Kay Roberson and husband Larry of Amarillo; son, James Glen Crownover of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at Groves Cemetery in Lampasas.
