Doris Jean Akana, 78, of Lampasas, died on Oct. 23, 2023, in Temple.
A celebration of her life will be held in Maui at a later date. Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel has charge of arrangements.
Doris was born on Dec. 6, 1944, in Agua Dulce, Texas.
She married James S. Akana on Feb. 14, 2012.
Doris worked at Oil States for eight years and Pioneer Gas Station for 16 years. She loved to fish, play bingo, go to the casino and take her trips to Hawaii.
She is survived by her husband, James S. Akana; two daughters, Kathy Lindsey and Virginia Bunting; sister-in-law, Mary Leinneweber and her children Tommie, Cindy, Cherlyn, Candi and Marcie.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy; her mother, Lela; a brother, Wilton; and sisters Audrey and Pat.
