David Everett Jenkins, 63, died on Aug. 13, 2023, at his home in Lampasas.
A service will be held at Sneed-Carnley Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m. on Aug. 19. The family will greet friends and relatives after the service.
Dave was born on Dec. 24, 1959, in Waukegan, Illinois to Robert Schlegel and Carol Williams (Bardell).
He grew up in Waukegan and graduated from Antioch Community High School in 1978.
After high school, he joined the Army in 1978 and served his country for 12 years.
Dave also worked many years as a general manager for several different car dealerships in the area, including Benny Boyd, Hoffpauir, Cecil Atkission and Frio Chevrolet.
Dave married Gail in August 2022 in Maui, Hawaii, and they were married for one year.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Janet Jenkins. They had been married 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Gail (Goforth) Jenkins of Lampasas; his daughter, Jennifer (David) Flores of North Carolina; his son, Jonathan (Destin) Jenkins, stationed in Germany; his father, Robert Schlegel (Lynn); his mother, Carol Williams; sisters Debbie Spaduzzi, Dianna (Dana) Dunbar and Dawn (Dan) Sewell; grandchildren Dylan, Maddox, River, Maverick, James and Benjamin; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
