Mr. Kennedy

Terry Glenn Kennedy died on June 23, 2023. He was born in Slaton on Dec. 13 1966, to Arvel Gene and France Wyvonne Kennedy.

Terry is survived by his wife, Angela; children Kirby Phillips (Clay) of Lampasas, Kleg Kennedy of Lampasas, Caleb Kennedy, and Jason Kennedy of Burnet; granddaughter, Emma Phillips; mother, Wyvonne Kennedy of Post; sisters Phyllis Walker (Donnie), Karla Richardson (Gary), Genetta Kennedy and Luanne Kennedy (Natalie); brother, Jay Kennedy (Connie); and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene Kennedy of Post; granddaughter Claire Phillips; cousin Clay Kennedy; and grandparents Jack and Selma Kennedy, and Wilburn and Loucille Morris, of Post.

Terry grew up in Post in a large, loving family. He graduated from Post High School in 1985 and was a proud member of the “bold gold” Antelope football team.

He graduated from Tarleton State University in 1991 with a degree in criminal justice.

Terry began his work in the juvenile probation system and found his true calling in 1999, when he became an adult probation officer for the 33rd Judicial District in Burnet County. He dedicated his career to serving both the public and those he supervised. More than once a former probationer credited him for changing their life.

In 2017, he was appointed director of the 33rd/424th Judicial District Probation Department (CSCD) serving Burnet, Llano, Blanco and San Saba counties and worked to improve the department and the lives of others.

Terry loved his wife, his kids, his granddaughter, playing golf, Texas football, being outside, going to the beach, and laughing and telling stories.

Visitation was held June 29 from 4-6 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet.

Funeral service is June 30 at 10 a.m. at Hill Country Fellowship Church in Burnet, with interment to follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park. Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet has charge of arrangements.
