The future of the vacant lot where the former county jail stood on East Fourth Street has been a recurring topic for months among county officials.
Now the lot will be sold by means of an auction, after a unanimous vote by the Lampasas County Commissioners Court on Sept. 26.
The auction is expected to take place at the Lampasas County Courthouse steps at 9 a.m. on Oct. 27.
