Texas Department of Transportation officials outlined their U.S. Highway 281 expansion plan Tuesday night at an open house hosted at New Covenant Church.
The proposed project spans the 28 miles from Lampasas north to Evant, with 250 acres required for right of way.
U.S. 281 is a part of the Texas Trunk System, established in 1990 to provide relief to major metropolitan areas.
