This afternoon, the Texas Department of Transportation announced its open house scheduled for tomorrow at New Covenant Church from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. will be postponed until another date.
The event was supposed to provide updated plans regarding the U.S. Highway 281 expansion project that will extend from Lampasas to Evant.
TxDOT says the project will widen U.S. 281 to four lanes -- two lanes on each side -- from the U.S. 183 exit to Lometa through Live Oak Street in Evant. The new highway will include a grassy median to separate traffic for safety precautions and paved median crossovers for access to both sides of the highway.
TxDOT says it will provide more information when "details become available."
