Lampasas Animal Control Officer Joe Schwartzer picked up a skunk March 30 that appeared ill and had been trapped in a yard in the 500 block of South Main Street. He euthanized the skunk, and it was submitted to a lab for rabies testing.
On April 1, Schwartzer was notified the skunk tested positive for rabies.
