A Lampasas man pleaded no contest to a felony assault charge in district court on Aug. 12.
In a hearing in 27th District Court, John Carl Phillips, 45, entered his plea to a charge of assault causing serious bodily injury, a second-degree felony, with a sentence set by the judge.
