Firefighters tackled a 403-acre fire this week that burned for more than 24 hours.
On Tuesday, multiple law enforcement agencies and fire departments responded to a call from the northwest end of Lampasas County — north of Farm-to-Market Road 581 and west of County Road 1047 — for what started as a controlled burn but got out of control.
