To address growth in the once-sleepy town, the Kempner Volunteer Fire Department has increased its presence.
At noon Saturday, the public is invited to an open house for the department’s third fire station, at 1705 FM 2313.
The station is 80% complete but is ready to stage three fire trucks: a large brush truck, a tanker and a medical vehicle.
