Kempner City Council voted to take steps toward having a new internet provider and construction of a reception tower, as well as pursuing a new Texas Community Block Development Grant.
During a public forum Tuesday, one Kempner resident spoke in favor of the tower, which is part of a proposal by Altitude ISP, a Hewitt-based internet service provider.
