Kempner council approves budget; tax rate stays the same

A unanimous vote Tuesday by the Kempner City Council adopted a $452,623 budget for Fiscal Year 2022, with no increase in the city’s property tax rate.
The budget and tax rate approvals are a first under the tenure of City Manager David Williams, who began working in that capacity in February. Kempner voters in November 2020 approved a ballot measure to create a city manager position.
