The United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development has funding available for rural low-income families throughout the nation in need of home repairs.
Locally, USDA awarded more than $300,000, which will be distributed by the Fort Hood Habitat for Humanity.
The program is available in rural communities of generally 35,000 people or fewer.
