On Saturday, two juveniles were rescued on the side of the Lampasas River after being trapped by a cliff that fell on top of them.
Lampasas Fire Department Capt. Colton Baker, who was on the scene, said the pair received injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
“Last I heard, they were both stable,” Barker said.
The incident reportedly occurred in the 1500 block of County Road 3150, the site where first responders accessed the Lampasas River. The Lampasas Sheriff's Department, Kempner Volunteer Fire Department, Kempner Police Department, Lampasas Fire Department, Hamilton EMS, and Care Flight all responded to the scene.
Both of the juveniles were taken to area hospitals, with one evacuated by a Care Flight helicopter and the other by Hamilton EMS.
Kempner VFD Chief Connie Smith said members of the community played a role in the rescue.
