Commissioners Court approves county budget, tax rate

    The Lampasas County Commissioners Court approved a balanced budget Tuesday evening.

    According to County Auditor Tragina Tallant, the $10 million general fund expenditure budget is slightly higher than the proposed tax revenue, and some fund balance of more than $224,000 is included to make the budget balance.

    Tallant said monies from the fund balance will be used to purchase “a piece of equipment.” …
