A Briefly item about Moonlight Swim in Tuesday’s edition listed the wrong location for the event. Hancock Springs Free-Flow Swim Area, off U.S. Highway 281 South, will host the event today from 7-11 p.m.

A handicap-accessible pool ramp built by Garrett Eddinger as an Eagle Scout project will be dedicated at 7 p.m. In addition, Moonlight Swim will feature a potluck meal and music with a DJ.

A season pool pass or general admission is required.


The city of Lampasas invites residents to nominate people or organizations for Community Champion recognition. The program honors individuals or organizations that make a positive difference in Lampasas. Nominees are selected on the basis of volunteer work, leadership, community involvement, projects in Lampasas or other factors that show a commitment to serving the community.

Each Community Champion receives a certificate on behalf of the mayor and the Lampasas City Council.
